In Washington, FERN’s Ag Insider reports Clean Fuels America Alliance wants the Environmental Protection Agency to boost the 2024 advanced biofuels blending mandate to 7.63 billion gallons, 36% higher than this year. For 2023, the group wants the EPA to boost the blending mandate by 500,000 gallons. It argues that with the massive influx of renewable diesel in the pipeline thanks to oil companies quickly retrofitting idle refining capacity to renewable diesel that there will be enough fuel to supply the higher mandate.
