In Wisconsin, the Irish Independent newspaper reports ClonBio plans to invest another $400 million in its Jefferson, Wisconsin to build a biorefinery at the AztalanBio facility it purchased in 2022. The company has already invested $100 million in upgrading the facility to make it the state’s largest ethanol and grain processing plant in the state. The company has been invited by the Department of Energy to submit a Part II application to secure $400 million to invest into the biorefinery project that will process corn into starch based, fibre based, protein based and fat based foods, feeds, and fuels.
