CNAF, Airbus China show interest in Cepsa’s SAF production

September 20, 2023 |

In Spain, La Vanguardia reported that China National Aviation Fuel Group Corporation (CNAF) and representatives of Airbus and Airbus China have visited the facilities of Cepsa’s La Rábida Energy Park to inquire about the company’s local SAF production.

Cepsa has begun to produce this type of fuel in the La Rábida Energy Park since March 2023.

CNAF is China’s largest supplier of aviation fuel. It covers 246 commercial airports in China, where it has its own fuel supply facilities.

According to the report, this visit represents a first step for a possible future collaboration.

Cepsa has already signed alliances for SAF research and production with leading airlines, such as Binter, IAG Group, Etihad, TUI, Wizz Air or Volotea.
