#5 EarthKind invites consumer to kill bugs, not the planet
In North Dakota, EarthKind has debuted a biobased pod that allows for the time release of its plant-based, pest-repelling oils.
The Pouch Pod is made from flax shive filled with polylactic acid resin, creating a rigid 100% biobased container that is reusable for up to three years.
“With this breakthrough innovation, the potential for biomaterials to reduce reliance on plastics is a reality,” says EarthKind’s CEO and Founder, Kari Warberg Block. “Utilizing innovative, sustainable packaging materials, and minimizing waste through design, is vital for creating eco-conscious products that will decrease pollution and our carbon-footprint.”
The company says its plant-based pest repellent products provide an effective way to get rid of insects, pests and mice and reduce dependence on toxic pesticides in the home.
