
#9 Hydrogen Tram begins test run in Chinese city preparing for major growth of the hydrogen economy
In China, the Railway Gazette reports that a tram powered by hydrogen fuel cells has started test running in Foshan, a city that is investing heavily in fuel-cell technology. The tram is expected to eventually serve 20 stops along the 17.4 km Gaoming Line on the west bank of the Xijang River. The city has put a total of 768 hydrogen-powered vehicles into service by the end of October, and it has a network of six refueling stations with an additional 12 expected to come online by the end of 2019.
