#4 Flushable paper pregnancy tests now available online

In Philadelphia, the world’s first biodegrable pregnancy test is now available for sale.

Developed by healthcare company Lia, the test is made from paper, is flushable, and biodegrades in just 10 weeks. It is also over 99% accurate, in line with plastic competitors. Like other tests, Lia measures urine for a hormone produced when fertilization occurs.

According to Shape magazine, around 20 million plastic home pregnancy tests are sold annually in the US alone. Most end up in landfills, where they can take up to 400 years to degrade.

Two packs of the tests are available for sale online and ship within three business days.
