Coronavirus Responses & Impacts Bioeconomy Survey Results – March 2020

Notes

Where trouble goes, mergers follow. Or is that “angels follow”? No mind, readers are clear that whatever angels have in mind to combat industry travails, that mergers and combinations will rise. We didn’t ask about bankruptcies, because that’s always a tricky question because it comes down to a company’s financial structure as well as market conditions.

Bottom line, he big are expected to get bigger for the reason they usually do — they’re more likely to be cash-rich and able to ride the storm than some smaller, newer entities, and the bigger companies and their cash piles may well find themselves shopping in a bioeconomy bargain basement before long.
