DENSO signs SOEC cell stack deal with Ceres Power

August 6, 2024 |

In Japan, DENSO Corporation has entered into a manufacturing license agreement with UK-based Ceres Power Holdings, a leading developer of solid oxide cell stack technology. This collaboration aims to accelerate the practical application of Solid Oxide Electrolysis Cells which produce hydrogen through water electrolysis.

Cell stacks, essential components of SOECs, play a crucial role in separating steam into hydrogen and oxygen. Ceres Power’s unique technology combines metal and ceramic materials, leading to high-output performance. By leveraging Ceres’ advanced technology alongside its own expertise in ceramic technology, DENSO plans to mass-produce high-quality cell stacks. This initiative also integrates DENSO’s system technology, including thermal management and system control.
