Dubai inks MoU with global companies to produce SAF

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Gulf Business reported that the Dubai Municipality has partnered with global companies to create a project that transforms waste into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This initiative, signed at the World Governments Summit 2024, with ENOC, BESIX Middle East, and Marubeni Middle East and Africa Power, paves the way for cleaner skies and a more sustainable future for the aviation industry, according to the report. The project utilizes advanced technology to treat mixed solid municipal waste, organic waste, and even green hydrogen from sewage treatment, converting them into the sustainable fuel. The project is set for implementation in July 2025.
