In Egypt, Egypt Oil & Gas reported that Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has welcomed the entry of John Cockerill International into a partnership with Scatec and the companies participating in the implementation of the green ammonia production project in Damietta Governorate. The official received a delegation of heads and representatives of John Cockerill, Scatec ASA, SLB, Technip and Rely companies to review ways of cooperation with the petroleum sector in implementing the green ammonia production project from hydrogen. Badawi confirmed that Egypt has a roadmap for implementing green hydrogen projects and that it is serious about cooperating with international companies to make the implementation of these projects successful, according to the report. In this regard, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) is working to support the acceleration of procedures for implementing new projects underway in partnership between the petroleum sector and leading international companies, the report added. The companies’ representatives indicated that the European Union (EU) considers Egypt a strategic partner in cooperation in the field of green energy and hydrogen.
