In Curaçao, the Curaçao Chronicle newspaper reports that Energis is the first company in the Caribbean to produce biofuels from waste with its latest investment in a $11 million facility. It can convert organic waste into biofuels as well as plastics and waste oils into fuel oils. The facility will be commissioned in June but the company is already hoping to become a major exporter in the region. Energis is part of the Swiss company, Clover Group.
