In Indonesia, Reuters reports that the European Union’s head of trade for Indonesia has pushed back at the Asian country’s threats to increase duties against European dairy products in an attempted quid-pro-quo for the European Union’s anti-dumping duties added to Indonesian biodiesel imports last month. The EU official said the World Trade Organization absolutely prohibits retaliation and says that a group of Indonesian importers said increased duties on European dairy products will damage the Indonesian economy.
