Evonik biosurfactant wins prestigious Responsible Care Award

In Germany,  Evonik has won the Responsible Care Award in the Safe and Sustainable Chemicals category for its glycolipid biosurfactants platform.

The award from the European Chemical Industry Council recognizes Evonik’s its role as a pioneer in glycolipid technology. The surfactants contribute to closing carbon loops by utilizing biogenic carbon as a raw material and ensuring the biodegradability of end products. “Winning this award is clear confirmation that our biosolutions are driving the revolution toward sustainable chemicals,” said Johann-Caspar Gammelin, President of Evonik’s Nutrition & Care division.

Evonik’s sophorolipid and rhamnolipid biosurfactants are eco-friendly glycolipids derived through fermentation using responsibly sourced and 100% renewable feedstock.
