#9 Antwerp orders tugboat that runs partially on hydrogen, a first of its kind

In Belgium, FlandersToday reported that the city of Antwerp has ordered a tugboat that will be partially powered by hydrogen, the first of its kind in the world. The ‘Hydrotug’ will have a combustion engine that burns hydrogen in combination with diesel. The Hydrotug, built by Compagnie Maritime Belge, has the lowest rated emissions on the market for a tugboat, and is one of the many steps being taken to shift the Port of Antwerp into a CO2-neutral operation.
