In Maine, Fiberight is coming up against a wall with local authorities in its attempt to build a $67 million waste-to-biogas processing plant that would process the organic waste from 187 communities. Despite offering a cheaper financial option to the communities for their waste disposal as well as offering them ownership in the project, the fact the company has yet to put up a similar commercial scale project has some of the town officials feel it is better to go with the offer from Ecomaine that will just incinerate the waste at a higher disposal cost.
