With investments from global players, including Mercuria Holdings and the Tokyo-based Manies Group, the company aims to advance the development of its flagship facility in Victoria, Texas.
The new facility will integrate Topsoe’s advanced solid oxide electrolyzer cells technology, designed to optimize ammonia production with minimal electricity use. This innovative approach enables the plant to adapt to fluctuations in renewable energy availability, ensuring grid stability and maximizing efficiency.
First Ammonia’s next-generation plant will contribute to decarbonizing industries reliant on traditional ammonia production, which today is mostly powered by fossil fuels.
