In Finland, Flying Forest Limited, a UK-based biofuels company specializing in the development of SAF, has ensured the purchase of a 26.8-hectare site in Iisalmi, Finland. This land procurement marks a significant step towards establishing the first SAF production facility and biofuels research center in the region, the firm said. The new facility is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs during its operational phase. In addition to direct employment, the project will boost local industries by sourcing its sustainable biomass feedstocks entirely from local forests and sawmills, supporting regional forestry and bioeconomy sectors.
