In France, Forvia, an automotive technology supplier, said it will supply HYVIA, Renault Group and Plug Power’s joint venture, with complete hydrogen storage systems for the New Renault Master H2-Tech. Forvia’s system includes up to five second-generation composite carbon fiber tanks. These tanks offer a more affordable and sustainable solution through enhanced manufacturing processes and reduced material use, the firm said. “This new generation of hydrogen storage systems for light commercial vehicles is a turning point,” said Yves Dumoulin, Senior Vice-President Hydrogen Solutions at Forvia. “We are proud to be the only supplier of the best-in-class zero emission van the only player currently in production worldwide for mobility applications. With four plants dedicated to mass production, we are delivering these advanced solutions at scale. In 2023, we successfully delivered 11,000 H2 tanks to our customers for mobility applications. Achieving this while improving the sustainability and affordability of these systems is a significant milestone for us.” In 2023, Forvia said it delivered 11,000 hydrogen tanks.
