In Germany, Reuters reported that German Economy Minister Robert Habeck said that the country can only meet 30% of its own needs for green hydrogen.
According to the report, green hydrogen is a pillar of the German government’s plan to transition away from fossil fuels.
“We need partners,” Habeck said, adding that contracts and memorandums of understanding were currently being drawn up in order to secure green hydrogen imports.
The minister also said it was important for Germany to find as many partners as possible to avoid too much dependency on individual countries.
