In Canada, Supply Demand Market Research reported that the global blue hydrogen market will reach $45 billion by 2030, growing by 11.9% annually over the 2022-2030 period.
The report noted that the global market is driven by “increasing government support for policy and regulatory support, growing interests and investments towards environmentally friendly energy”.
“By application, in 2022 the petroleum refineries captured the largest share followed by chemical industry application. Ongoing research and development were focused on improving the efficiency and reducing the costs associated with blue hydrogen production, including advancements in steam methane reforming and carbon capture and storage technologies,” the report added.
