Haffner Energy launches SAF Zero spin-off

September 16, 2024 |

In France, Haffner Energy announced the launch of SAF Zero, a spin-off aimed at producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel using their proprietary SAFNOCA technology, which converts organic waste and biomass into syngas. By focusing solely on SAF, SAF Zero will enable Haffner to accelerate global SAF projects while allowing the parent company to concentrate on hydrogen, syngas, and methanol ventures.

“We have two publicly announced SAF projects in development, including Paris-Vatry SAF in partnership with LanzaJet and LanzaTech, as well as a growing number of undisclosed bio-SAF and e-SAF projects in America, Europe, Africa and Asia. We need partners to boost our efforts and grow our visibility on the soaring SAF market,” states Marcella Franchi, Head of SAF at Haffner Energy. “Our technology is compatible with ATJ, Fisher-Tropsch and methanol-to-jet SAF pathways. It is also compliant with existing SAF mandates around the world,” she adds.

Haffner Energy’s intellectual property related to SAF will be transferred to SAF Zero through a license involving an upfront payment and future projects royalties.
