In Brazil, the price parity for hydrous ethanol against gasoline has fallen to its lowest in five years at 61.9%, down from 62.9% last month. The lowest was September 2010 when parity fell to 58%. Pump prices for ethanol fell 2% over the past month, helping to boost demand from flex-fuel vehicle owners, of which more tan 60% are in Sao Paulo state. Hydrous ethanol consumption was up 40% in June over May at 785 million liters.
