In India, Manufacturing India Today reported that India’s Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced that a number of Indian businesses are setting up plants to manufacture automobiles and motorcycles that run entirely on ethanol.
According to the minister, Toyota is the first car in the world to have a flex engine and to meet Euro 6 emission standards. Net zero emissions are produced as the car runs on ethanol made from corn, molasses, and sugarcane juice.
The minister also noted that Suzuki and Tata are developing automobiles with flex engines or 100% ethanol. Flex engine bikes and scooters are produced by Bajaj, Hero, and TVS, according to the report.
The minister went on to say that other producers in India are also attempting to release a flex engine.
