In Indonesia, the Jakarta Globe newspaper reports the government has begun trailing B40 on trains in an effort to reduce fuel imports for rail transportation, saving up to $9 billion annually. Using B35 has already led to significant reductions of FX usage, so increasing the blend another 5% is expected to improve the situation further, in addition to lower carbon emissions. Following recent trials with rail and agricultural machinery, plans are for further testing for mining, shipping and power generation.
