In Iowa, the Des Moines Register newspaper reports that the controversy regarding eminent domain powers to force landowners to sell their land to make way for the Summit Carbon Solutions proposed CO2 pipeline has brought the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation together with the Sierra Club’s Iowa Chapter to fight together against the move. Both organizations have received redacted versions of a dozen ethanol agreements but they have separately filed for access to the documents that would be seen only be each side’s attorneys, but Summit’s attorneys say that isn’t good enough and trade secrets will be shared.
