In Iowa, Iowa Public Radio reports the state’s Supreme Court has begun hearing arguments regarding eminent domain relating to Summit Carbon Solutions’ planned carbon dioxide pipeline that would run through the state. The case is brought by a private landowner who refused to give the company access to survey his land and then the company successfully won an injunction, which promoted taking the case to the Supreme Court when he failed in the lower court. The landowner claims the eminent domain law in the state is constitutional according to Iowa as well as the US Constitution.
