In South Carolina, GreenGasUSA announced a partnership with JBS to produce renewable natural gas at JBS facilities in Nebraska, Utah, and South Carolina. The collaboration will transform methane from wastewater into RNG. This innovative move aligns with JBS’s mission to reduce its carbon footprint while improving air and water quality at their processing plants. GreenGasUSA’s gas upgrading systems will ensure pipeline-quality RNG for fossil fuel displacement.
“GreenGas is deeply committed to developing solutions that address GHG emissions in the most difficult-to-decarbonize industries,” said Marc Fetten, CEO and Founder of GreenGasUSA. “We see tremendous opportunity in our partnership with JBS USA to significantly reduce on-site environmental impacts, produce sustainable, renewable energy, and support climate change initiatives in other industries.”
The initial installations of the renewable natural gas systems at JBS facilities will begin at Pilgrim’s Sumter, South Carolina, expected to be completed by early 2025. Projects at the Grand Island, Nebraska, and Hyrum, Utah facilities are slated for completion by the end of 2025. These installations will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions while enhancing wastewater management and supporting renewable energy distribution.
