Knock on wood: why trade and brand will trump tech in the advanced bioeconomy

How is that going to work? How are you going to get a carbon benefit under a US regulatory regime that helps you in China. Or, what if India needs energy but it is far more profitable to export to California? Or, to Europe. Or somewhere else?
