In Massachusetts, CNBC reports Kudos, a sustainable diaper brand founded by “Shark Tank” alum Amrita Saigal, is set to launch in 375 Target stores nationwide, aiming to disrupt the traditional diaper market dominated by giants like Pampers and Huggies. Kudos diapers are 100% cotton-lined and incorporate degradable materials such as sugarcane and trees, making them more absorbent and environmentally friendly than competitors, as verified by Diaper Testing International.
Saigal, an MIT graduate and mechanical engineer, developed Kudos to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and promote sustainability. Traditional disposable diapers are made with petroleum-based materials and can take hundreds of years to decompose. Kudos’ innovative design, featuring proprietary “DoubleDry” technology, wicks away moisture more effectively, keeping babies drier and reducing diaper rash.
In the three years since its launch, Kudos has raised over $6 million in funding, including investments from Precursor Ventures and Xfund. The company has sold more than 20 million diapers and grown sales by over 100% in the last 12 months. As Kudos expands into Target stores, Saigal emphasizes the importance of balancing premium quality with affordability to make sustainable products accessible to a wider audience.
With a focus on reducing environmental impact and improving performance, Kudos aims to lead the market in sustainable diaper solutions.
