LATAM Airlines to use SAF as part of its efforts to reduce emissions

October 25, 2022 |

In Mexico, Aviacion21 reported that Chilean airline LATAM Airlines has committed to reducing its emissions to achieve a neutral footprint in 2050 and reduce 50% of its emissions by 2030.

Juan José Toha, director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability of LATAM Airlines, said:” “There is room to improve. We require a carbon compensation policy and the SAF.”

“We assume and declare our will to reach the year 2030 using 5% of SAF produced in the region. We believe that it is the role that LATAM can play, which is to encourage, to give a clear signal, both for public policies and for producers, in terms of saying here is a company that is willing to advance in this line and wants to do this, but it requires production at the local level to be able to do it,” Toha added.
