In Germany, Leonhardt & Blumberg locked in an order for four 49,500 dwt Chemical/Product Oil Tankers from Guangzhou Shipyard International, with MB Shipbrokers handling the deal. Expanding on a previous two-tanker order from April, the company aims to boost its fleet with eco-friendly vessels.
Designed by GSI, these ships come ready for Methanol Dual Fuel and feature open-loop scrubbers, meeting tough Tier III emissions and EEDI Phase 3 standards. The tankers, measuring 183 meters long and 32 meters wide, are set to sail at 14.5 knots.
Deliveries start in January 2027, marking Leonhardt & Blumberg’s first MR tanker project with CSSC Group. This collaboration builds on a long-standing relationship, setting the company up to meet stricter regulations while keeping pace with market demands.
