#7 Green oleochemicals plant planned for China

In China, Inventure Renewables, Wilmar, Desmet Ballestra have announced that they will build a plant to convert soybean oil into high-value oleochemicals.

The Jiangsu province plant which will bolt on to an existing Wilmar facility and use Inventure’s recently developed Soap Carbonate Technology to convert low-value processing residues into valuable, uncontaminated Free Fatty Acids.

Matt Morgenroth, Group Technical Head at Wilmar International Limited, says adopting Inventure’s Soap Carbonate Technology will better position Wilmar to meet growing demand for green oleochemicals.

Desmet Ballestra S.p.A.- Mazzoni LB Soap has been cooperating with Inventure for the industrialization and the commercialization of the technology. Desmet will provide engineering services and required technical assistance for the construction and the start-up. Construction of the facility is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2019.
