August 29, 2024 |

In Canada, Reuters reported that industrial gases firm Linde said it would invest more than $2 billion to build a clean hydrogen facility for supplying to Dow’s Path2Zero production complex in Alberta, Canada. The report noted that the facility would be the largest clean hydrogen production site in Canada upon completion in 2028 and would also supply to other customers along with Dow. Linde added it would also capture more than 2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year for sequestration. The Dow facility includes a new ethylene cracker that is still under construction, which would help increase the firm’s polyethylene capacity by 2 million metric tons per annum, according to the report.
