In Hong Kong, chemical maker LyondellBasell and baby care products leader Pigeon Singapore have announced a collaboration in sustainable baby nursing bottles.
The partnership will incorporate LyondellBasell’s biobased CirculenRenew polypropylene polymers into Pigeon’s revamped series of nursing bottles, marking a pivotal shift away from traditional 100% virgin PP resins.
CirculenRenew polymers, utilized in the cap, hood, bottle, and handle of various nursing bottle models, are crafted from renewable feedstocks derived from biobased wastes and residual oils, including used cooking oils. Employing an ISCC PLUS-certified mass balance approach, these biobased feedstocks are integrated into LyondellBasell’s conventional production processes. The result is a sustainable solution with a lower carbon footprint compared to fossil-based alternatives.
The use of CirculenRenew is expected to enhance the environmental footprint of Pigeon’s nursing bottles.
