In Malaysia, the country returned to being a serious exporter in May with 20,872 metric tons with the majority loaded at Pasir Gudang port possibly for a European buyer, compared to just 116 tons the month before. As exports rose, stocks fell more than 8% to 1.65 million tons, the lowest since March 2011, though still higher than then the 11% drop predicted by some analysts. Production increased slightly in May, up 60,000 tons to 1.36 million tons.
