Malaysia’s biodiesel exports sank 65% in August after arbitrage window closed

In Malaysia, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board says biodiesel exports during August sank 65% from July to just 16,201 metric tons, valued at $10.81 million. A wide arbitrage window to Europe and the US saw exports soar during June and July but that opportunity closed, having a significant impact on export volumes. As a result of the closed window and reduced export opportunities, Platts report FOB Southeast Asia biodiesel prices fell to $595.63/metric ton in August from $663.45 per ton in July.
