Maris Fiducia Charts Course for Zero-Emission Shipping in Europe

May 14, 2024 |

In Norway, an HAV Hydrogen press release reported that in a bold stride toward a greener future, Maris Fiducia Norway is pioneering the next generation of maritime transport by spearheading the development of hydrogen-powered dry-bulk vessels across Europe. Teaming up with maritime innovator HAV Hydrogen, hydrogen producer and distributor Norwegian Hydrogen, and Dutch ship designer Ankerbeer, this coalition is set to revolutionize dry-bulk shipping vessels in Europe.

The initiative aims to demonstrate the practical viability of hydrogen fuel in commercial shipping through a series of bespoke vessels crafted by Ankerbeer. Upon successful implementation, these ships will operate under a zero-emission charter with Schulte & Bruns, facilitated by hydrogen infrastructure provided by Norwegian Hydrogen and the cutting-edge technology of HAV Hydrogen’s ZEPOD—a comprehensive hydrogen energy system housed in a deckhouse on each ship.

According to the statement, Markku Vedder, CEO of Maris Fiducia Group, reflected on the shared vision with chartering partners and the potential of this transformative project saying, ”Maris Fiducia is dedicated to shaping the future of maritime transportation towards environmental sustainability,”
