In Brazil, Ukragroconsult reports the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) data shows about a quarter of the state’s corn production when to ethanol in the 12 months ending in March 2024. Ethanol production during that period rose 39% on the year to 4.54 billion liters using more than 10 million metric tons of corn as feedstock. Corn ethanol production is expected to increase another 14.5% during the current 2024/25 season, in line with an overall ethanol production rise of 14.6%.
