In India, the Press Trust of India reports that the mothballed sugarcane mill in Goa is set to come back online in the next year to produce much-needed ethanol. Companies interested in restarting the Sanjivani Sugar Factory that has been offline since 2019 are being sought through a Request For Qualification process that has just opened through the state’s agricultural department. Cane farmers have been paid more than $3.6 million since the mill closed four years ago.
