#4 Celebrate World Bamboo Day with these sustainable products

In Vancouver, design publication Yanko Design celebrated World Bamboo Day by highlighting the material’s versatility with a list of the top bamboo products for eco-conscious consumers.

According to the online magazine, bamboo’s tensile strength, flexibility, lightweight, cost-effectiveness, and durability make it ideal for countless applications. The list includes the Everloop Toothbrush that features bamboo bristles and a handle made from recycled plastic and a stylish computer mouse made from bamboo and aluminum.

One of the more innovative items was a clothing iron made from bamboo. Designed by Saksham Mahajan, it was a featured entry for the Green Concept Award in 2019. The iFi Aurora high fidelity speaker, designed by Julien Haziza features a bamboo casing, while Baubax shoes are feature an upper made from bamboo to keep your feet cool in hot temperatures.

The Yanko Design list also featured KNORK Eco’s cutlery created from a biopolymer comprised of sugarcane starch and bamboo pulp. Reusable and dishwasher friendly, the forks and spoons will also biodegrade in 2 years if they do end up in a landfill.
