In the Netherlands, Offshore Energy reports Finnish fuel supply and distribution company NEOT has renewed its charter contracts with Terntank, extending agreements for six wind-assisted, methanol-ready vessels operating from NEOT/St1’s terminal in Gothenburg. This extension marks a continued partnership that began in 2013, with both companies committed to sustainability in maritime transport. NEOT, which became the first Finnish company to utilize liquefied biogas in shipping in 2018, is focusing on reducing emissions in the maritime sector.
As part of this renewed collaboration, NEOT and Terntank have also introduced the Hybrid Solution Plus vessel series. The first of these vessels, with a deadweight of 15,000 tons, was contracted in March 2023 and is set for delivery in March 2025. These advanced vessels are designed to further minimize emissions, supporting Terntank’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2040.
Marc Scheller, NEOT’s Director of Shipping and Operations, emphasized Terntank’s critical role in their logistics, praising the partnership’s alignment on sustainability goals. Terntank’s owners expressed pride in the ongoing collaboration, highlighting the strengthened commitment to innovation and sustainability as they continue to advance the future of green maritime transportation.
