In The Netherlands, Offshore Energy reported that Danish shipping company Norden has completed the 100% biofuel (B100) bunkering in Singapore.
According to Norden, the operation marked the first ever B100 bunkering in Singapore.
Norden was commissioned by Japan-based trading company ITOCHU Corporation to conduct the B100 biofuel bunkering, following the trial of a B24/VLSFO blend on Panamax vessel Nord Taurus, according to the report.
The report noted that the bunkering was carried out with support from bunker supplier Mitsui & Co. Energy Trading Singapore (METS), a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co.
