Norwegian NTE’s plant at Kråkøya produces its first hydrogen

In the Netherlands, Offshore Energy reported that Norwegian NTE’s green hydrogen production plant at Kråkøya in Nærøysund municipality has produced its first hydrogen gas. According to NTE, this represents a significant step forward for zero emissions in the maritime sector as the plant is the first hydrogen production, storage and bunkering facility for ships in Norway. “Our ambition at NTE is to create a climate-neutral society, where our hydrogen commitment plays a crucial role in realizing this vision,” NTE said, adding that the company plans to build a larger network of hydrogen plants in Norway. NTE, a power company serving Nord-Trøndelag county, is said to be one of the largest producers of electricity in Norway, according to the report.
