NXT Mobility opens new hydrogen station in Alkmaar

January 25, 2024 |

In the Netherlands, Petrol Plaza reported that a new hydrogen refueling station (HRS) has been opened by NXT Mobility in the Dutch city of Alkmaar. Established as a NXT Energy Hub, the site is located at De Boekelermeer business park after an extensive pilot phase. This makes the first HRS in the city of Alkmaar a reality, where all hydrogen-powered vehicles can fill up at 350 or 700 bar, according to the report. “Although there are currently over 4,100 filling stations in the Netherlands, the number of places where hydrogen can be refueled is still very limited. The realization of this hydrogen location is therefore an important step, not only for NXT Mobility, but also for our region,” said Erik Metselaar, Director of NXT Mobility. The hydrogen station in Alkmaar is part of the Duwaal project, which focuses on the development of a green hydrogen economy in the north region of the country, the report added.
