In The Netherlands, Manifold Times reports OCI Global and TankMatch completed a green methanol bunkering operation for containership Eco Maestro, X-Press Feeders’ first dual-fuel methanol-powered vessel, at the Port of Rotterdam. The green methanol supplied by OCI Global was delivered with TankMatch’s barge, MTS Experience.
The ECT Delta terminal at the Port of Rotterdam provided the infrastructure needed for this pioneering effort. The terminal is known for its deep-sea capabilities and advanced automated systems, making it an ideal location for such innovative projects.
Eco Maestro is the first of 14 dual-fuel vessels ordered by X-Press Feeders, which plans to deploy these vessels primarily on European routes, establishing Europe’s first green methanol-powered feeder network. This initiative underscores the shipping industry’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing environmental sustainability.
