In the UK, H&V News reports that OFTEC and the UK and Ireland Fuel Distributors Association (UKIFDA) have teamed together to ask the Chancellor to rethink his stance on taxing renewable fuels for heating in the upcoming Spring Budget. Currently, duties are charged on biofuels whereas they are not charged on kerosene for heating fuel, while there are no such duties charged on renewable fuels or fossil fuels for transportation. An ongoing trial includes 150 buildings using HVO as heating oil, in hopes of expanding its use to off-grid homes.
