
#3 Washington seeks to develop commercial rescue vehicle powered by hydrogen
In Washington D.C., the DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy has announced a collaboration with the Department of Defence to develop and demonstrate “H2Rescue”— a hydrogen fuel-cell powered emergency relief truck. The collaboration will conduct a feasibility and development study to ensure the truck meets the needs of users in the emergency management field. The development of the vehicle is in support of the DOE’s H2@Scale initiative which seeks to enable affordable and reliable hydrogen generation, transport, storage, and utilization in the United States across multiple sectors.
