In Taiwan, Taipei News reported that Paraguay’s Minister of Finance, Carlos Fernandez, said that the country would consider Chinese investment to develop its nascent green hydrogen industry as it seeks to become a regional fertilizer supplier.
Paraguay is one of the few countries in the work with diplomatic ties with Taiwan.
“I’m open to talking to any entrepreneur from China who wants to invest and create jobs in Paraguay,” Fernandez said in an interview with Bloomberg TV. “It’s not a question of China versus Taiwan. We are open to everyone.”
According to the report, Paraguay aims to develop its green hydrogen sector to diversify its exports, which are heavily dependent on soy and meat exports.
