In Illinois, physical prices for Chicago Argo ethanol are back at a premium over paper trade, even if only by a cent per gallon, for the first time since April 7 thanks to maintenance season pulling production offline and starting to drag down stocks. The trade expects production to bounce right back up after maintenance is completed, meaning the physical premium isn’t likely to last long. Summer driving season will start up soon, however, which will push demand and could help to support margins.
