In Poland, complying with EU blending mandates for biofuels will cost $1.047 billion this year with the country’s two biggest fuel suppliers estimating that buying the biofuels will cut $285.45 million from their profits because they have to sell them lower than what they’re paying for them.
The country currently blends 6.2% biofuels and until recently the government had subsidized the use of biofuels to the tune of $475.76 million.
